I'm having problems receiving notifications on the Android App.

If you are having problems receiving notifications on the Couchsurfing Android application, please see below: 

Check Couchsurfing in- app Notifications Settings

  1. Open the Couchsurfing Android app.
  2. Open the main left side menu (Top left menu button).
  3. Tap on “Settings” > “Notifications”
  4. Make sure “Inbox" is checked

Check System Account settings

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Under "Personal," tap Accounts and then Couchsurfing.
  3. Ensure that the Inbox sync settings is turn on.


Check System Notifications Settings

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Make sure that the general notifications are not turned off.
  4. Tap Couchsurfing App.
  5. Make sure the Notification are enabled.

 

Check System Battery saver mode (Since Android Lollipop)

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap “Battery” > “Battery saver”
  3. If “Battery saver” is on, the Couchsufing app might not display Inbox notifications.

Check that your Phone is not out of space

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap “Storage”.
  3. Check that the storage space is not full.
