No. Couchsurfing is a self-moderating community, and we believe that each member is responsible for deciding who they would like to meet. References, even negative ones, provide information to the community. A behavior that one person finds offensive may not bother someone else, and our role is not to make judgments in the case of disputes, but rather to encourage both parties to share information about their experience.
If a serious safety issue is addressed in references, we may take additional action against the profile. We always reach out to the reporter for a complete, first hand account before taking action against a profile.
For direct assistance from our safety team, please submit a confidential report or send an email to safety@couchsurfing.com.
