Getting a conduct warning can feel alarming, but it doesn't mean your account is in trouble. It means we heard something worth flagging, and we want to give you a heads-up before anything escalates.
What Triggered the Warning?
A conduct warning means Couchsurfing received a report suggesting your behavior may have gone against our Community Guidelines. That report could come from another member, or from an automatic flag triggered by our system moderation.
What Does This Mean for My Account?
This is not a suspension. It's not a ban. No action has been taken on your account right now.
Think of it as a nudge: we want you to have a great experience here, and we want others to have one too. If we receive additional reports of a similar nature, we may take further action without prior notice.
What Should You Do Next?
Take a few minutes to read through our Community Guidelines. It's worth making sure your interactions are in line with what our community expects.
One thing to skip: reaching out to recent hosts or guests to ask about this report. We get that it's tempting, but contacting someone in response to a warning can itself be considered a violation of our Community Guidelines and could lead to action on your account.
A Couple Things to Know: Conduct warnings are issued at the discretion of Couchsurfing's Trust and Safety team. All enforcement decisions are final.
