Want to host someone? Whether you're looking for a specific traveler or just curious who's headed your way, there are a few easy ways to find them.
Search for Travelers Through Explore
On mobile:
- Tap Explore
in the bottom navigation bar
- Tap the search bar and select the Travelers the search categories
- Enter in the location you're searching
- Select the result that says Travelers in [your searched location]
On the web:
- Click Explore
- Click the search bar and select Travelers from the search categories
- Enter in the location you're searching
- Select the result that says Travelers in [your searched location]
You'll see members with upcoming public Trips to that location. Tap or click any result to view their public Trip and learn more about them.
Results are personalized to you, so travelers who are more relevant to your profile appear higher in the list. The ranking takes into account things like mutual friends, shared connections, common languages, shared interests, and recent activity.
Travelers Nearby
Want a quicker way to see who's coming to your area? On the Explore page, tap or click Travelers Nearby to instantly see travelers with upcoming public Trips near your current location. No searching required.
Find Travelers Through Your Trip Itinerary
If you've created a Trip with a destination in your area, your Trip itinerary will show an "Other travelers also going here" section under that destination. Tap or click any traveler to view their public Trip. It's a great way to discover who's coming to town without leaving your Trip page.
Who Shows Up in Travelers?
Only members who have created a public Trip to your area will appear in the results. If a traveler hasn't shared their plans yet, or if their Trip is set to Friends Only, they won't show up.
How Do I Reach Out to a Traveler?
Found someone you'd like to host? From their public Trip, tap or click Offer to Host in the bottom left corner. You'll fill out a short form that includes:
- A note to the traveler
- Your home address
- Sleeping arrangement
- Dates
- Number of travelers you can accommodate
Once you send the offer, the traveler will be notified and can review your details and respond.
A Couple Things to Know:
- Travelers set their own trip dates, so check that their travel window matches your availability before reaching out.
- You can only have one active Host Offer or upcoming Stay with the same traveler at a time.
