Good news: Couchsurfing already knows some of your people. Two pages in Settings help you see who you've linked up with and who from your contacts is already on the platform.
What Is the Connections Page?
Connections shows the device or Google accounts you've synced with Couchsurfing. You can see what's currently linked and disconnect anything you no longer want connected.
What Is the Connected Contacts Page?
Connected Contacts is where it gets fun. It shows you which people from your synced contacts are already Couchsurfing members. From here, you can:
- See members you may know and send them a friend request
- Browse contacts who aren't on Couchsurfing yet and invite them to join
- Connect additional contact sources
How Do I View My Connections and Connected Contacts?
Both pages live under the Integrations section in Settings.
On mobile:
- Tap Library
in the bottom navigation bar
- Tap your profile
in the upper right corner
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections to see your linked accounts, or tap Connected Contacts to see your synced contacts on Couchsurfing
On the web:
- Click your profile
in the left navigation bar
- Click Settings
in the upper right corner
- Click Connections to see your linked accounts, or click Connected Contacts to see your synced contacts on Couchsurfing
How Do I Disconnect a Synced Account?
This one is web only for now. Head to Settings → Connections, find the account you want to remove, and disconnect it from there.
To stop syncing your device contacts, turn off contact access for Couchsurfing in your device settings.
One Thing to Know: You can sync multiple Google accounts and any device you access the app on. Google is the only supported option for email-based contact sync right now.
