Locked out because the email on your account is one you can't access anymore? Don't worry, this is fixable. Since logging in relies on a sign-in link sent to your email, you'll need a working email on the account to get back in. Our support team can update it for you once we've confirmed you're the account owner.
What to Include in Your Request
Send us a request through our support form with as many of these details as you can. Don't sweat it if you can't remember everything, just share what you've got.
- Your full name
- When you created your profile
- When you last accessed the platform
- The street address registered on your account
- Your date of birth
- Who is listed as your emergency contact
- The email address currently connected to your account
- The new email address you'd like to use
- A link to your Couchsurfing profile
The more details you can give us, the faster we can verify your identity and get you back in.
How to Submit Your Request
When filling out the support form, select the following:
- Category: My Account
- Sub-Category: Resetting Password and Login Issues
- What can we help with?: I need to reset my password and don't have access to my email address
Our team will take it from there, verify your information, and update the email so you can sign back in.
One Thing to Know: Couchsurfing no longer uses passwords. If you're a returning member who used to log in with one, you'll now sign in with a magic link sent to your email, a connected social account, or an SMS code. There's no password reset to worry about.
