Couchsurfing should keep you in the loop without flooding your inbox. You're in charge of how (and how often) we reach out, all from the Notification Preferences section in Settings.
How Do I Get to Notification Preferences?
On mobile:
- Tap Library
in the bottom navigation bar
- Tap your profile
in the upper right corner
- Tap Settings
- Tap Notification Preferences
On the web:
- Click your profile
in the left navigation bar
- Click Settings
in the upper right corner
- Click Notification Preferences
What Can I Turn On or Off?
You can fine-tune notifications by category (think messages, friends, events, trips, and more). Each category has its own email and push toggles, so you can mix and match however you like. Want push pings for new messages but no emails ever? Easy. Want the daily digest but not the weekly one? Done.
A checked box means that notification is turned on. Uncheck it to turn it off.
When you're set, tap or click Save my preferences to lock in your choices.
A Couple Things to Know:
- Notification settings are category-level. You can't filter to receive only certain types of alerts within a category (for example, hosting requests only)
- These settings apply to email and push notifications. Activity Center items are separate and can't be filtered or turned off
