Adding an emergency contact gives the Couchsurfing team someone to reach out to on your behalf if anything ever comes up. It's quick to set up, totally private, and one of those things that's nice to have in place just in case.
What Information Do I Need to Provide?
You'll need a few details about the person you're listing:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Relationship
- Preferred Language
How Do I Add or Update My Emergency Contact?
On mobile:
- Tap Library
in the bottom navigation bar
- Tap your profile
in the upper right corner
- Tap Settings
- Tap Emergency Contact
- Fill in or update the contact fields
- Tap Save to confirm your changes
On the web:
- Click your profile
in the left navigation bar
- Click Settings
in the upper right corner
- Click Emergency Contact
- Fill in or update the contact fields
- Click Save to confirm your changes
A Couple Things to Know:
- Your emergency contact is private. Only the Couchsurfing team can access it, and only if we need to reach someone on your behalf
- Other members will never see these details
- You can update or remove your emergency contact anytime by returning to this section in Settings
