Submitting a report takes courage, and we take every single one seriously. Here's what happens after you do.
Reporting a Member
When you report a member from their profile, it goes straight to our Trust and Safety team. A real person reviews it and takes appropriate action. Depending on what they find, that could mean a warning, restricting the member's access to certain features, or removing their account entirely. Every report is reviewed individually — nothing is dismissed automatically.
If you also want to prevent the member from contacting you, block them from their profile. Reporting and blocking are separate actions, and you can do both.
For urgent or serious concerns, you can reach the Trust and Safety team directly through Settings → Trust and Safety.
Reporting a Chat or Message
When you report a message or a full conversation, our Trust and Safety team is notified immediately. Chat content is also reviewed by automated moderation, which can hide content that violates our standards before a human even sees it.
Reporting Content in the Feed or a Community
Posts, events, and profiles can be reported directly from the Feed. In communities, content may also be removed automatically by moderation tools or by a community moderator. If you think something of yours was removed by mistake, reach out to the Trust and Safety team and they'll take a look.
A Couple Things to Know:
- You may not hear specific details about the outcome of your report. Our team protects the privacy of everyone involved in a review, but your report does make a difference.
- If you are in immediate danger, use Call Local Authorities in Safety Tools (mobile) or contact emergency services directly. Do not wait to submit a report.
