Yes. Every report matters, regardless of who it's about.
A member's history on the platform, how many references they have, or how long they've been part of the community doesn't change how we handle reports. Our Conduct Policy applies to everyone equally. If someone's behavior made you uncomfortable or crossed a line, that is worth reporting. Full stop.
Why It Matters
Patterns aren't always visible from a single interaction. Someone who seems trustworthy to some members may be behaving very differently with others. Your report could be the one that connects the dots.
We also know that reporting someone with a strong community reputation can feel daunting. You might worry your report won't be taken seriously, or that others won't believe you. So let us be clear: we take every report seriously, and everything you share with us is confidential. Your name and the details of your report stay within our Trust and Safety team. No exceptions.
What to Do
Report any member directly from their profile. For urgent safety concerns, go to Settings → Trust and Safety.
Not ready for a formal report but want to flag something privately? Leave Private Feedback after a stay. It's only visible to the Couchsurfing team and helps us build a fuller picture of a member's behavior over time. Every bit of information helps.
