Couchsurfing doesn't use passwords, so logging in only takes a few taps or clicks either way you go.
On mobile and the web:
- Tap or click Connect with Google, or use Facebook or Apple
- Or tap or click Continue with Email
- Enter your email address and tap or click Send Code
- Check your inbox. We'll send you a one-time code and a magic link, use whichever's easier
- Enter the code, or tap the link, and you're in
Phone number sign-in isn't offered as its own login method. Google, Facebook, Apple, and email are the only ways to sign in.
If you've logged in on this device before, we'll often recognize you and show a Welcome Back screen with your usual sign-in method already picked out for you. Not you? Tap Switch Accounts to use a different one.
What if I Used to Log In With a Password?
If you're a returning member and you remember an old password, tap Continue with Email, then look for Can't Access Email?. Enter your email and password there to verify it's you. After that, you'll be shown a screen letting you pick a passwordless way to sign in going forward, either Connect with Google or Continue with Email.
I'm Having Trouble Logging In
Tap or click Need Help Logging In on the login screen. We'll ask a couple quick questions and point you to the fastest way to get back in, whether that's a quick fix or a short recovery form.
A Couple Things to Know:
- Couchsurfing no longer uses passwords for everyday login.
- Codes and links expire after a short time. If yours times out, just request a new one.
- Recovery form submissions are reviewed within a few business days.
